There are several ways in which Viagra works to treat erectile dysfunction, including:
Viagra works by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme, which is responsible for breaking down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGMP is a molecule in the blood that relaxes smooth muscle in the penis, which allows blood flow to the penis.
